Book Review-Slaughterhouse-Five

Overall Rating-4/5

well ,here we are,Mr Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.”

This was the second Vonnegut book for me after Cat’s Cradle. It was also an anti-war,science fiction crossover having the dark satirical approach to the topic. It is somewhat a semi-autobiographical work of author and his account of Dresden bombing. The book deals with aliens,time-travel,death,PTSD with statements that are easy and catchy and simultaneously forcing you to look inside yourself.Dealing with topics like how Human Beings so easily let go of their conscience and do horrible task(as he describes about Vietnam bombing).

This book tells us to accept which is beyond our capacity to alter and make peace with it.In the end it concludes with the phrase “poo-tee-weet”,which doesn’t have any meaning and is an excellent choice to show that war is as meaningless as the phrase.

EVERYTHING WAS BEAUTIFUL,AND NOTHING HURT.
